We have been very lucky to have our own set of little gardens. We had hoped to get them planted earlier but with all the frosts we decided to hold off. They have been in the garden for 2 weeks and are looking great. Been getting plenty of rain in last few weeks and now the ground is rocking and rolling. Hope they survive.

On Friday we were privileged to have Vrishali and Navitha's mums tell us about Diwali and how it is celebrated in their families. They shared some wonderful food and showed us a beautiful rangoli picture made of coloured rice. It was nice that Navitha's Grandad could join us too. We loved seeing the beautiful clothing worn for special celebrations. Thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon.
Every fortnight we get the chance to be part of the KEGs ( kids edible garden) programme with Mrs Hepburn. She teaches us about growing and caring for plants in our school garden. Last time we weeded and planted spring onions. Next week we hope to plant our little garden seedlings.
This term we have started Discovery Time in our team. Each room had a variety of activities for us to try. We are working on developing our Key Competencies. We talked about what "Managing Ourselves" might Look like, Sound like and Feel like. Over the first 3 weeks we were able to try all the activities.

We were lucky to start the term with 4 sessions of tennis coaching with Reilly. We learnt lots of skills to help us to be able to have a rally across the net with a partner. Some children are quite keen to learn a bit more. We loved doing the hamburger challenge at the end of each session. We could almost do it with 4 people!
The beginning of Term 4 was a very busy one with visits from the Life Education classroom and Grasshoppers tennis.
At the end of Term 3 we were lucky to receive 29 little gardens from Schoolkit. On the last day of Term we all helped plant them. Mrs McLaren has kindly offered to babysit when Mrs Paterson is away. We are very excited to see how much they grow.
After doing lots of measurement activities about jack and the beanstalk, we planted beans from Mrs Paterson's garden. They grew really tall. We are going to plant them at home and see if we get lots of yummy beans.

Science Fun in Room 2

We had lots of fun on Friday making new colours from red, yellow and blue.
We wondered how we could make new colours without actually mixing them together ourselves.
Look what we came up with. The food colouring soaked up the paper towels and into the water in the jars, mixing the colours. After we had made orange and green, we mixed blue and red to make purple.
